The Inversion series comprises paintings created during the COVID-19 pandemic. They combine gestures drawn from jiu-jitsu, dance, and martial arts — mapping movement as a form of spatial thinking. The works reflect the architectures of Vancouver, translating motion, rhythm, and contact into layered compositions. Through traces, textures, and shifting surfaces, they echo the fragmented geometries of screens and urban space, where bodies and environments continuously reorient and adapt.
